Füssen is a beautiful Bavarian town, located very close to the border with Austria. Füssen is mostly known for Neuschwanstein Castle – the famous castle built by King Ludwig. Füssen is also included in Germany’s Romantic Road and it’s not so hard to see why. If you think Füssen looks good, you should wait until you see the surrounding area.

What to do in Füssen
The town is very pleasant and fresh and can be rapidly visited .It has many restaurants, souvenir shops so you will not get bored. The railway station from Füssen is located just 10 minutes away from the historic part of the town, so if you have some time left take advantage and visit it.
These are the things you can do in Füssen, at least that’s what we did.
- See the old historical center of Füssen, St. Mang’s Basilica and the local museum
- wander the streets, admire the colorful buildings, try the local sweets, have a walk in the local park and buy some souvenirs.

- spend the night in one of the local hotels-called “Gasthaus” and try the local cuisine
- explore the surrounding area, known as a hiking and paragliding paradise. See : Lech River, Lech Waterfalls- at just a short walk distance, Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle
