The best cheese in Bavaria

A few months ago we discovered  the best cheese in Bavaria. The shop selling the cheese, called Schönegger Käse Alm was situated in Rottenbuch at the end of a light walking trail. The trail – Pfaffenwinkler Milchweg is dedicated to the work of the farmers and has around 4.2 km . Along the road we found information panels about the milk , milk products and cattle.

As you can see from the pictures the area is very beautiful  and is perfect for families with children. The shop selling this wonderful cheese is situated at the end of this road. If you expect something big, you will be disappointed. The shop looks like a small house with a small beer garden outside .
The walls of the shop  are covered with some funny paintings with cheese and milk. We did not know about the existence of this shop and we discovered it accidentally.

We saw some people eating outside the shop and decided to go in and see what the inside of the shop offers. I was expecting to find just some fries, white sausages , pretzels and beer, but this is what i found. The shop was specialized in milk, spicy mountain cheese, sausage specialties,  butter, eggs and cosmetic products made from milk. We did not know what to buy, but we saw some guy buying a plate with cheese and sausage and we ordered the same.

The plate had various types of cheese , salami and sausage. Everything was so delicious and i can not say which cheese type i liked best. But i can say one thing: that was the best cheese i ever ate !
